Northeast Wilderness Trust Binney Hill Project a Success!

Daryl Burtnett, Executive Director of the Northeast Wilderness Trust, announced at our Annual Meeting the Trust’s successful purchase of the 488 acre Binney Hill property!

The next step will be a forever wild easement which will include protection of approximately one mile of the Wapack Trail on the property.

The Trust’s plans for the next twelve months include work to heal some of the impacts of past timber harvests, restoration work along the Wapack Trail, and the addition of visitor kiosks.

Just as we supported the successful campaign to protect this property, we’ll be involved with the restoration efforts and on going stewardship. Thanks to all who supported this important project which helps insure the future of the Wapack Trail!
