Timber Harvest Tour along the Berry Pasture Trail
August 4, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Tour a modern timber harvest with forester Dan Reed along the Berry Pasture Trail, on the New England Forestry Foundation Lincoln-Davis Forest in Sharon
The Berry Pasture Trail, a feeder / spur trail of the well known Wapack Trail is now the locus of a large timber harvest that has temporally closed the trail. The timber harvest is selectively cutting about 52 acres on the western side of Burton Peak on the Temple Mountain Ridge in Sharon. This harvest is below the 83 acres harvested in 2007, which re-cleared 22 acres of the former blueberry fields, and created views.
On Friday August 4, all are welcome to join forester Dan Reed of the New England Forestry Consultants on a morning walk through and inspection of the timber harvest.
We’ll meet at 9:00 AM on Mountain Road, which is across from the NH Institute of Art Sharon Arts Center campus, on route 123 in Sharon. We’ll gather at the first landing on the left on Mountain Road. There is a NEFF sign at this landing.
