SUMMARY:Trail Work Day - Marion Davis Trail
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Wapack will have their first organized workday in over a year on September 25\, 2021.  We will be rebuilding some water bars on the Marion Davis Trail. \nWith the pandemic this trail has seen increased use and a number of water bars along the upper portion of the trail are in need of rebuilding due to the use and their age. Depending on the turnout\, we may also do general maintenance on Marion Davis Trail and Wapack near the summit. \nWe will meet at 8:30 AM at the Miller State Park lower lot.  Once we determine the number of people attending\, we will drive to the summit and walk down the Marion Davis trail to the work area. \nBring a lunch and water and work gloves and appropriate clothing. Water bar work tends to be messy.  We will supply tools.  Contact Mike Przybyla for more information.

SUMMARY:Workday in Sharon
DESCRIPTION:The final workday will be on Saturday September 21st. We will be working on the section of the trail between the Wildcat community and Nashua Road in Sharon. The primary task will be relocating the trail back to its original location over a stream. The trail was moved to this location a number of years ago due to beaver activity. \nThe beavers have moved on and we can now move the trail back to its original alignment which provides better footing. We will also be doing the usual general maintenance work on this section. We will meet at 8:30 at the NeWest Mall in New Ipswich and car pool over to the work site.

SUMMARY:Trail Work Day - Miller State Park
DESCRIPTION:Work day to relocate a section of the Marion Davis Trail\n\n\n\n\n\n\n   Join us for some trail work at Miller State Park to move a section of the Marion Davis Trail. We’ll be moving the trail out of a wet area near the bottom of the trail. If you are familiar with the trail\, it’s the muddy section after crossing the brook. We plan to move the trail up hill\, starting at the brook\, to completely avoid the wet section. NH State Parks has recently approved the project. It’s an easy relocation requiring mostly brush cutting and removal\, clearing the new tread-way\, and brushing in the old route.. We should be done by mid-day.\n\n   We will meet at 8:30 AM at the Miller State Park lower parking lot on Rte 101 in Peterborough.\n\n.\n   Contact Mike Przybyla for more information or questions 603-878-3350.

SUMMARY:Trail Work Day at Miller State Park
DESCRIPTION:The first trail workday will be Saturday May 4th  We will be at Miller State Park doing stone work on the lower section of the Wapack just above the spot where it crosses the access road.  This is a very rocky section and we will be moving rocks around to better improve the tread way.  We will be working with the Trailwrights on this project\, and the work will provide a useful experience for anyone interested in rock construction.  We will be using a Griphoist and other rigging\, so heavy gloves and shoes are especially important for this workday. We will also likely do general trail maintenance\, depending on turn out. \nWe will meet at 8:30 AM at the Miller State Park lower parking lot\, Route 101 in Peterborough\, NH. \n

SUMMARY:Work Day at Temple Mountain State Reservation
DESCRIPTION:The first workday will be Saturday May 5th at the Temple Mountain Reservation opposite Miller State Park on Route 101. We have a two part day planned. We will start with the installation of new signs made by the State of New Hampshire at the base of the mountain. These will help to direct people onto either the Wapack or the Beebe Trails and provide better direction through the open areas at the base of the mountain. We will continue to the summit to install an additional sign where the Wapack leaves the access road. The second part of the workday will be the rehabilitation of a number of water bars on the north side of Holt Peak. These were installed over ten years ago and need reconstruction. We will meet at 8:30 AM at the Temple Mountain Reservation parking lot (just across the street from Miller State Park) on Route 101 in Peterborough. The parking lot has no street address but if you are looking to GPS your way there you can input Miller State Park to get you close or enter the following coordinates: 42.848250\, -71.884978
